Cancer patients seeking treatment at Cork hospitals are being assured they will not be affected by the national shortage of chemotherapy drugs

Baxter Healthcare, the biggest supplier of chemotherapy drugs in the country are experiencing temporary delays in production

The Mercy University Hospital and Cork University Hospital affirmed they have not been clinically affected by these delays and treatments have not been deferred or cancelled.

The Evening Echo reports the treatment of up to 50 cancer patients across the country has been delayed due to the issue.
