Candlelit Vigil Held Outside City Hall Last Night In Support Of Women At The Centre Of CervicalCheck Scandal

It's emerged today the the number of women who've died after receiving false negative smear test results has increased to 18.

A peaceful protest has also been organised for this Saturday in the city by Cork blogger Nikola Barrett

The blogger recently posted her views on the scandal on Facebook which prompted her and two friends to arrange a march in the city in solidarity with the women and families left devastated by the scandal.

She says the post has been well received and she's encouraging women to protest in the wake of the Cervical Check controversy.
The march gets underway this Saturday outside St. Finbarr's Hospital at 3pm, and Nikola is encouraging men and women to participate.

Speaking to RedFM News, Nikola Barrett of the Wardrobe Fairy says it's not just a womens' issue:
