Carers are calling on the government for a fair deal.

In its pre-budget submission, the group Family Carers Ireland is calling for guaranteed Respite Care for families.

 

It also wants the government to publish the new National Carer's Strategy - backed up by adequate funding.

The organisation says carers contribute 6.2 million hours of unpaid work each week - worth 4 billion euro annually.
