Carrigaline breaks World Record

Carrigaline is the home of a new world record. Hassett's Bakery has broken the record for the most ginger nut cookies - baked in an hour. They smashed the record of 1800 - by baking 4,695 cookies. The event is in association with the Red Head Convention which will take place in Crosshaven between August 23rd and 25th. The cookies are being sold to raise money for the Irish Cancer Society and are available to buy from Hassett's Bakery, Cronins Bar in Crosshaven and via the Red Head Convention website www.redheadconvention.com Speaking to Cork's RedFM, head baker Michael Hassett, is hoping today's event will raise thousands of euro for the Irish Cancer Society: (Click above for audio)
