Carrigaline football coach holds firm on anti racism stance

The coach of a football team in Carrigaline is holding firm on the stance he took after one of his players was subjected to racial abuse He refused to allow his team play the second half of a game during a recent Cork Schoolboys League match after an opposing player made a racist remark and the club was subsequently fined 200 euro over the move.. Mark McCarthy says the player came to him at half time, upset over comments that had been made. It's the second time it's happened this season, and following a discussion with the referee, he opted to take the team off the pitch.
