Cattle sold at Auction will have to be resold
500 cattle belonging to a Co. Cork farmer which were auctioned earlier this week, have to be resold.
Auctioneer Denis Barrett confirmed last night that two successful bidders failed to pay for their purchases.
The auction took place on the farm on Peter Kingston from Nohoval near Kinsale on Tuesday after ACC Loan Management secured a E2.5 million judgement against him.
The Kingston herd provided five national dairy champions over the past 20 years.
It is understood that the bulk of the animals involved were the dairy cows which were the highlight of the auction.
According to the mornings papers, the cattle will now have to be resold through an online tender process.
This is to prevent protests that surrounded the sale by land rights campaigners, who previously warned buyers not to attend the auction.
