Charleville Trader Says Roadworks In The Town Means His Business Has Dropped by 50%

Lee Centra Group says it has had had to reduce staff hours and introduce temporary lay offs
A Charleville trader says his business is down 50%, some of his staff are on reduced hours and he has had to make some temporary lay offs as a result of ongoing road works in the town.
Traders in the town say there wasn't sufficient communication about the road works to allow them to make provisions to minimise disruption to their business.
Charleville Chamber of Commerce has also hit out at the lack of engagement and says the full extent of the current works beyond the Main Street to Charleville Park Hotel, Limerick Road and to the Medical Centre, Cork Road, has not been communicated.
They're calling on Cork County Council and Transport Infrastructure Ireland to communicate clearly with the business community.
Speaking to RedFM News owner of Lee Centra Group in Charleville, Ray Lee, says he believes communication on the issue was lacking and the impact has been detrimental:
