CHASE Dispute Figures On Dioxin Levels From Proposed Incinerator

Cork Harbour for A Safe Environment say An Bord Pleanala is being misled when it comes to possible dioxin levels from a proposed incinerator in Ringaskiddy.
Following a forensic analysis of a new document resubmitted by Indaver to correct previous mistakes, CHASE have called on the statutory body not to accept the new figures at face value.
Dioxin levels are measured on the Most At Risk Individual or MARI model, a theoretical farming family living near an incinerator to measure the effects on the body when exposed to dioxins.
However CHASE say Indaver have starved the MARI man on a diet below 1,000 calories a day in order to meet EU limits of acceptable daily dioxin intake.
Speaking to RedFM News CHASE Spokesperson Linda Fitzpatrick says the data provided by Indaver is unreliable:
