Cheap alcohol promotions target Leaving Cert Students
€2 drink promotions aimed at Leaving Cert students celebrating their results have been branded "irresponsible".
Alcohol Action Ireland has criticised these promotions spotted in venues across the country, targeting young people and say it is promoting excessive drinking.
The national charity says students need to be aware of the dangers of cheap alcohol and are encouraging parents to talk to their children before they head out to celebrate tonight.
Speaking to RedFM news Head of Communications and Advocacy of Alcohol Action Ireland Conor Cullen says some students themselves feel pressured to drink to excess:
