Chief Executive of Cork City Council Defends Almost 300 Council Staff Car Parking Spaces In The City

Traders say they are struggling to keep their heads above water since the Council introduced the private car ban on Patrick Street
Traders have hit out at the perk and are calling on the Council to lead by example.
Business owners have accused the Council of double standards on the matter, however the Council says it has introduced parking incentives and rolled out an advertising campaign to say the city is open in an effort to allow the car ban "bed in".
Speaking on the Neil Prendeville Show on Cork's RedFM Council Chief Executive Ann Doherty says the free parking for some of her staff is an "historical" arrangement:
