Childline offer support to thousands of children on Christmas Day

The ISPCC says Christmas Day can be very distressing for thousands of children around the country.
The Charity expects to receive over 1,000 calls to it's Childline service from children who are waking up alone, frightened and neglected this Christams.
They say that letting children know they are not alone, and there is someone at the end of the phone to listen to them, is invaluable.
Childline offers a phone line, text or online chat service to vulnerable children, and receives over 1200 forms of contact every day.
Speaking to RedFM News Anne Marie Spillane from Cork's ISPCC says it's hard for many of us to imagine a child being left alone on Christmas Day:
