Children as young as 9 exposed to sexually explicit material on mobile phones across Cork

That's according to Internet Safety Company Trend Micro who say parents must speak to their children about mobile phone use
They say parents who give children mobile devices at a young age must also speak to them about the dangers associated with sending or receiving sexually explicit material.
There have been calls for issues such as pornography and sexting to be included as part of sex education in primary schools.
However the Internet Safety Company says although the idea of speaking to a 9 year old about sexting might seem daunting, it is key in helping young children stay safe.
Speaking to RedFM News Trend Micro's Avril Ronan says parents should not shy away from having the conversation.
