Over 100 residents held a protest on the road on Wednesday evening to highlight their opposition to the plan
Over 100 residents held a protest on the road on Wednesday evening to highlight the plans which will see some homeowners losing up to 7 metres from their front gardens.
Locals have accused City Hall of pushing the plans through without the proper consultation, however the Council has hit back and says their engineers had a large number of meetings with local representatives throughout the public consultation phase of the project
City Hall says the project, which will be voted on by councillors at Monday night's Council meeting, has a number of benefits which has the potential to remove traffic blockages, reduce journey times and improve safety
However speaking to RedFM News John Bowman from the Wilton Community Action Group says the Cork Metropolian Area Transport Strategy will cause huge disruption to communities across the City
