City Council to proceed with rent review process

A protest took place outside City Hall yesterday calling for a restart to the process.
The City Council is to press ahead with its current rent review process which has sparked outrage among tenants.
PPS numbers, employment details, and copies of recent payslips are among the requirements of the review.
Tenants say they were also threatened with a monthly €100 rent hike if they didn't cooperate with the process.
Around 40 memebers of the Tenants Rights Association turned out at City Hall yesterday evening calling on council members to restart the process.
However the city's head of housing says the requirements of the review are standard practice and 75% of forms have already been returned.
Speaking on the Neil Prendeville Show Diarmaid Ó Cadhla of the Tenants Rights Association says they are seeking legal clarification on the forms issued to tenants.
