City Councillor calls for taskforce to formulate plan to drive business in the city centre

The time has come to drive on Cork's planned Events Centre in an effort to attract businesses into the city centre.
Cork has been badly hit with shop closures in recent weeks, particularly on Patrick Street where hundreds of workers have lost their jobs
City Councillor Sean Martin is calling for the establishment of a taskforce to address the situation facing the city and formulate a fresh plan to attract and drive business forward
He says there is a unique opportunity at the moment to re-develop the city centre and the Events Centre is a crucial part of that plan
