Coastguard calls off search for missing man
A search for a fisherman who fell overboard from a Spanish trawler near the Blasket Islands has been called off.
The 46 year old Spaniard was aboard the 38 metre Spanish trawler, Peixemar Dos which was fishing out of Vigo in north western Spain, but was operating from Castletownbere.
He was reported missing on Wednesday night and the coastguard helicopter Rescue 115 from Shannon, Valencia RNLI and the LE Aisling all took part in the search.
The operation was suspended following a search by the Valentia coastguard helicopter yesterday morning.
