Cobh man regains consciousness after Boston attack
A Corkman left in a coma after an assault in the U.S over the weekend has regained consciousness. Gary Halpin, who's originally from Cobh, was viciously attacked in the Dorchester area of Boston in the early hours of Sunday morning. The 35-year old graphic designer emigrated from Cobh to Boston a few years ago. Gary was attacked near the home he shares with his wife and three old daughter. A bank card was stolen during the assault and cash has since been withdrawn from the account. Yesterday he was moved from intensive care at Boston Medical Centre and it's hoped he will make a full recovery. It's understood Gary has no memory of the asasult but he does recognise his family. While, Police in Boston are continuing to investigate the attack.
