Cobh Will Be Designated A Rent Pressure Zone From Today
Cobh local electoral area will be designated a Rent Pressure Zones from today.
The town is one of four areas where rents will now only be able to go up by four per cent a year and joins Ballincollig, Carrigaline, Fermoy, Midleton and Macroom on the list.
Meanwhile the latest figures from the Residential Tenancies Board shows national rents increased by 8.2 per cent this year, with the average now 1,243 euro per month.
But Caren Gallagher from the RTB says there are signs the pace of rent increases is slowing:
