A Code Level Orange weather warning has been issued for Cork.
Cork City Council have issued a warning to businesses and householders that heavy incessant falls of rain will occur overnight tonight and during Friday.
It comes after Cork which has been hit by severe flooding in recent years, was last month listed as the county with the most areas at risk of flooding by the Office of Public Works
Motorists are also being advised that spot flooding could lead to poor conditions for driving treacherous driving.
Up to 75mm of rain is forecast.
The warning is in effect from midnight tonight until midnight on Friday.
