Community Development Minister says he was shocked by report into children's living conditions at Spring Lane halting site

Minister of state Joe O'Brien is due to visit the site near Blackpool shortly to meet with residents.
It follows a report by the Children's Ombudsman last month that found children at the site were living in appalling conditions.
The three year investigation also found that children suffered skin and respiratory conditions at a higher rate than the general population.
Speaking to RedFM News, Minister Joe O'Brien says he wants residents to know they haven't been forgotten:
"Initial reaction was shock really I suppose in terms of particularly reading some of the children's testimonies about how they felt, and how they felt different to their peers, and how they felt neglected and forgotten. So I suppose as a member of government and as someone familiar with the situation that Travellers face across the country, I felt it incumbent on me to go down and talk to people and say well you're not being forgotten now."
