Concern as demand for housing exceeds supply in Cork

Cork city has been hit by a shortage of housing as demand for houses is outstripping the supply of building land.. Meanwhile in the county, there is an over supply, with enough land to build 26,000 units but little more than 10% of this will be needed to meet housing demand in the next three years... Senior Council planners say the key issue facing the local authority is stimulating the construction industry and convincing developers to invest in Cork.
