Concern expressed after Crosshaven cottage destroyed by vandals
Concern has been expressed after a beachfront cottage in Crosshaven belonging to a local man was destroyed by vandals.
The cottage which overlooks Graball Beach, is one of the oldest in the area, and was ransacked by a gang over the weekend who caused over €20,000 worth of damage
Rocks were thrown through the windows and widespread damage was caused to the kitchen, dining room and bedroom
Pierce O'Keeffe is a well known member of the local community and he had lived in the cottage up to 2 years ago but now uses it as a holdiay home and stays there when he visits family in the area
Neighbour and friend Chris Maverley told the Neil Prendeville Show on Cork's RedFM that locals believe the house was targetted by a group of drunken youths following a nearby party:
