Concern Over Test Result Backlog After CervicalCheck Scandal

There are claims the Health Minister continues to have multiple questions to answer

The opposition's claiming it could take a year to clear the backlog created after the health minister offered free repeat tests for women with concerns over the Cervical Check scandal.

The Dáil heard claims this evening that Minister Simon Harris was warned the decision would put a major strain on the system.

Minister Harris insisted he hadn't ignored his officials' advice - and said it was impossible to estimate how many women would take up the offer.
