Concern raised over the misuse of benzodizapines

Heroin remains a huge problem in Cork however concern is rising about the growing misuse of benzodizapines. That's according to a Cork pharmacist whose claims have been backed up by the Cork Drugs Task Force which has confirmed that they are seeing more people through their services who are abusing benzos. "Anne" who has been working and dispensing in Cork pharmacies for the past 10 years contacted the Neil Prendeville Show and claimed that the amount of benzodiazepines being dispensed in the city is doubling every day. David Lane of the Cork Drugs Task Force says the fight against drug misuse and abuse is an uphill battle but there has been huge investment in their services over the past six years Click the PLAY button above to hear.
