Concerns raised over anti social behaviour at illegal bonfires across the county

Calls have been made to the County Council to introduce community led bonfires, a similar initiative to the City Council's Bonfire Night Project
Increasing anti social behaviour at illegal bonfires across the county is a growing cause for concern.
That's according to Gardai and County Councillors who are meeting to discuss the issue in the coming weeks.
Calls have been made for funding to be made available by the County Council to local communities across Cork, in order to set up a similar initiative to the City Council's Bonfire Night Project.
This programme, which gives communities the opportunity hold family orientated bonfires, has proven hugely sucessful in recent years, and has seen a reduction in anti social behaviour in estates across the city.
Speaking to RedFM News Cllr Eoghan Jeffers says the council need to act now in order to prevent an escalation of violence at illegal bonfires
