Concerns Raised Over Lack Of Information Supplied On Historical Abuse
Serious concerns have been raised about the lack of information provided by the Irish State into investigations into historical abuse outlined in the Ryan Report.
The UN Committee against Torture has published its final report on the Irish Government’s performance on issues including institutional abuse, detention and healthcare.
It’s urged the Government to collect data on all criminal investigations by Gardai into abuse allegations at religious run institutions.
Just one prosecution has stemmed from the testimony of 15 thousand survivors of abuse given to the Ryan Commission.
