Concerns raised over plans to abolish the USC

The concerns were raised by the European Commission.

The European Commission's hit out at plans to abolish the Universal Social Charge saying it could jeopardise Ireland's ability to deal with another financial crisis. 

In the first assessment of the economy since the minority Government took office Brussels says there hasn't been enough broadening of the tax base here.
