Contract For The Dunkettle Interchange Upgrade Will Not Be Awarded At Any Cost

Transport Infrastructure Ireland say the contract for the Dunkettle Interchange upgrade will not be awarded at any cost.
The Irish Examiner reports that TII Officials appeared before an Oireachtas Transport Committee and confirmed that the current contractor Sisk may be let go if an agreement for the second phase of works cannot be agreed.
TII said they cannot offer any more clarity relating to costs until they have more information however they warned the project could be delayed by up to 18 months if another contractor is appointed
The meeting follows a warning from developers and business groups that economic growth in the region could stall if the development is delayed.
