Cork addiction centre reports increase in women seeking help

A Cork addiction centre has reported a large increase in the number of women being treated for addiction services. According to figures released by Tabor Lodge over one third of patients being treated are women and the centre is also reporting what they describe as an alarming rise in heroin use among men seeking help. Over 14,000 calls were made to the service this year alone and the centre has now expressed concern for the number of people who are attending their service requiring help for multiple addictions.
