Cork Addiction Charity Agrees To Stop Using Verbal Abuse As A Treatment Method

Addicts attending the Tabor Group are subject to confrontational sessions where they are verbally abused for hours at a time.

The charity says the approach is designed to help clients who are in denial to see the full consequences of their addiction.

The Irish Times reports that an evaluation of the residential treatment centre recommended that the controversial method be dropped from the programme.
