Cork air passengers advised to prepare for delays
Cork air passengers are being advised to check in as normal for their flights this evening but to be prepared for delays... The warning from the Duty Officer at Cork Airport comes as thousands of Irish passenger's travel plans have been disrupted today as a result of a strike by French air traffic controllers. Ryanair has been forced to cancel nearly 170 flights while Aer Lingus has advised that it's services are operating on significant delays. The strike - which got underway today - is expected to last for 6 days. At Cork Airport flights to Reus and Palma in Spain are experiencing long delays - the Palma flight was due to leave at 11am but only took off at 3.15pm while the flight to Reus was due to depart at 12.25pm but didn't get away until 2.30pm Ryanair's service to Alicante which was due to arrive into Cork at 5.15pm has been delayed until 8.15pm so now has a new departure time of 8.45pm Martin Skelly, President of the Irish Travel Agents Association, says the strike action is bad form: Click PLAY to hear audio
