Cork Airport announces new route for 2017

Cork airport has welcomed a new airline and destination for the 2017 summer schedule.

Spanish low cost carrier Volotea will run a new scheduled service from Cork to Verona from June next year.

The new route to Verona - the home of Romeo and Juliet - will add an extra 4,600 seats to the schedule of services from the Munster region.

The Irish Aviation Authority released figures earlier this year showing Cork Airport  as having the strongest growth in passenger numbers of all three national airports.

Speaking to RedFM News Head of Communications at Cork Airport Kevin Cullinane says the low cost airline will open the region up to Italian tourists:
