Cork Airport confident US route will go ahead

A decision on the transatlantic route is expected next month.
Cork Airport say they're confident transatlantic flights will get the green light next month.
It follows a breakthrough last Friday after the US Department of Transportation approved in principal, Norwegian Air International's license application for the route.
However the next month will be tense for those backing the flights as there's a 21-day appeal period in which submissions for or against the flights can be made.
A seven day adjudication period will follow before a final decision on the granting of a license will be made.
Speaking to RedFM News Managing Director at Cork Airport Niall McCarthy says he's remaining optimistic despite some opposition to the routes:
