Cork anti-water charges protester appears in court

It comes amid a spate of anti-water charges protests at housing estates Leeside in recent days.
High profile anti water charges campaigner Brian Gould was arrested this morning under the criminal justice act for his part in a protest at Watergrasshill..
Irish Water staff were blocked access to stop cock valves in Ard Cashel by residents and the gardaí responded to the housing estate.
Brian Gould was arrested and appeared before a special sitting of Mallow District Court. He has since been released on bail to appear in court again next month and as part of his bail conditions he must stay away from Watergrasshill while Irish Water staff are in the vicinity.
Gardaí were out in force in both Ard Cashel and Willow Gardens in Glanmire where up to 20 protesters from each estate mounted protests.
These residents from both estates told RedFM News that they are not prepared to back down.
