Cork Anti Water Protesters turn out in force.

Cork Anti Water protesters joined the tens of thousands of people who turned out at a national demonstration against water charges in the Capital yesterday.

Five buses and up to 2,000 campaigners from Cork travelled to Dublin to take part in the protest.

Two main groups met on O'Connell street after gathering at Heuston and Connolly Station before marching along the quays.

A rally was held in front of the GPO with leading trade union figures among those to address the crowds.

The march was organised by the Right 2 Water campaign and organisers have said that the numbers at the march demonstrated that the campaign to abolish water charges was continuing.
