Cork Boy Dies in Tragic Accident
A five year old boy has died after a fireplace fell on him at his home in the county. The accident is understood to have happened at the family's two story house at Coolgreen, White's Cross at around half past one this afternoon. Emergency services rushed to the scene and the child was taken by ambulance to Cork University Hospital. He was later pronounced dead and a post mortem is expected to be carried out later. Gardai say it was a tragic accident.
