Cork Braces Itself For Further Flooding

A code level orange weather warning has been issued for Cork. Southwesterly gales are set to continue with gusts of up to 120 km/ph and the risk of further flooding. Wandesford quay, Morrisons island, South Terrace, Copley Street and Sullivans Quay in the city centre were all effected by flooding. In Bantry the Quay and Wolfe Tone Square were also hit by flooding. The Bailick road in Midleton was also hit by flood water which blocked the road. It has been reported that some cars on the South Mal were damaged by a foot of water. Meanwhile up to 1,500 homes are without power this morning after severe lightning last night.
