Cork Branch Of IFA Hit's Out At Proposed Boundary Extension

The Irish Farmers Association in Cork has hit out at the proposed extension of the city boundary claiming it will have a detrimental impact on rural areas.
The Association claims it will deprive many parts of the county of the investment needed to support economic activity and rural regeneration.
The IFA also say farming represents a significant part of the economy of County Cork with over 14,000 farmers, supporting an additional 6,500 jobs in processing.
Speaking to RedFM News Harold Kingston of the IFA says all the boundary extension achieves is the movement of funding from the county to the city
