Cork Business Association says chain brands needed in the city

The Cork Business Association says international chain brands are needed in the city to increase footfall. It comes after some Cork businesses voiced their opposition to chain brands such as StarBucks and British pub chain Wetherspoons opening in the city centre. Fears have been expressed that international brands could affect the unique identity of the city - and traders would bear the brunt in terms of footfall.
