The scheme would see automatic payments of up to 5 thousand euro for uninsured premises damaged by flood waters.
The scheme's designed to give assurance to small businesses in flood prone areas, as well as voluntary, community and sporting bodies.
Severe flooding caused millions of euro worth of damage in the City in 2009, while Bandon and Skibbereen suffered from flooding in 2015 and during Storm Ophelia
