Cork Cancer Survivor Speaks About Importance Of Cancer Research

Liz is sharing her story with RedFM News as part of Cork's RedFM's Buy back Time initiative with Breakthrough Cancer Research

That was Liz Muldoon's reaction to her breast cancer diagnosis in April last year

39 year old Liz, who is a mother to two young girls - Cara and Grace - says her life was turned upside down but her eldest daughter was due to start primary school in September and she tried to focus on her daughter's step into big school and her girls needs and take each day as it came.

Liz's treatment options were slightly more limited, as she had triple negative breast cancer - a more aggressive form of cancer, but after undergoing 16 bouts of chemotherapy in 23 weeks, surgery and radiotherapy over the past year, in February she was given the news that she is cancer free

Liz says she survived due to cancer research and is proud to support Breakthrough Cancer research and the incredible work they do.

Speaking to RedFM News she said normalising life for her girls, with the support of her husband Keith, helped her to get through

Listeners are being urged to team up with the charity and take one hour out of their day and donate the value of that hour or €4 to the charity's appeal by texting the letter BCR to 50300
