Cork charity struggling to meet demand
St Vincent de Paul Leeside say thousands of people have contacted their services this year.
Over 13,000 people have turned to the St Vincent de Paul in Cork for help in the first 11 months of this year.
The charity says despite the economic upturn many people across the city and county are continuing to struggle to put food on the table and pay their bills.
St Vincent de Paul says they are struggling to meet the demands placed on their services and as a result the amount of help they can offer people is limited.
Speaking on the Neil Prendeville Show Brendan Dempsey of the charity says people who never needed help in the past are now turning to the charity for assistance.
