Cork children play 'Garda for a day'

The new recruits are from the children's ward at The Mercy University Hospital.
35 new recruits are joining the ranks at Anglesea St Garda station today.
Gardaí are making some of the children's ward at The Mercy University Hospital honorary members of the force for the day.
The children were given garda hats and t-shirts this morning before being introduced to the forces' horses and sniffer dogs.
They will then be taken on a tour of the fire station and Collins Barracks before being brought on a boat trip around Cork harbour.
After a long day on the beat they'll then enjoy a well deserved McDonalds with the guards.
RedFM News spoke to some of the new recruits as well as Clinical Nurse Manager at The Mercy University Hospital Sínead Favier.
Running order of interviewees: Adam and Luke McCarthy, seven-year-old Emma, siblings Alex, Leah and Luke, and 12-year-old Rachel Muprhy,Clinical Nurse Manager Sínead Favier.
