Cork cities new cycle lanes

The city's new cycle lanes are expected to be in full use this weekend when they're incorporated into this year's annual cycling festival. Concerns had been raised about the lanes following the removal of two taxi ranks and changes to the layout of the main westbound route out of the city. However it's believed the lanes have encouraged people take up the cycling as a means of transport and for leisure purposes. The festival is returning for a 7th year and the programme promises to the biggest yet with organised cycles, bike repair stalls, and information.
