Cork city cleans up in litter survey

Cork city has achieved its highest result ever in the IBAL litter survey. Latest results show that the city is now clean to European norms - with over half of the sites surveyed getting the top litter grade. Mahon Crescent was the only bad site. There were noticable improvements with the Bandon Road and the North Ring Road. The top ranking sites included Princes Street, St. Patrick's Street, Coal Quay and South Mall, Crawford Art Gallery and Silver Springs Moran Hotel. Fermoy was ranked 7th, Shandon/Blackpool is 26th while Midleton was deemed moderately littered. IBAL's Dr Tom Cavanagh is pleased with Cork's result: (Click above for audio)
