Cork City Council Face €250,000 Bill For Illegal Dumping

Cork City Council could face a bill of up to €250,000 to clean up an illegal dumping site on on the northside
The Ellis's Yard site is next to the Spring Lane Halting site which is home to over 100 people and is surrounded by several housing estates.
Cork City Fire crews were called to several reports of rubbish fires at the site over the weekend, while nearby residents were forced to keep their windows shut due to the smoke in the areas.
The Irish Examiner reports that the site has already had three large scale clean-ups between 2003 and 2014 at a cost of more than €570,000.
