Cork City Council set target for returning vacant homes for let
By the end of 2016 the city council aim to have no more than 60 vacant houses Leeside.
The council set a target of delivering over 1,300 houses by the end of the year in a bid to tackle the housing crisis in the city.
Currently there are approximately 350 vacant units in Cork, from the total stock of over 9,000.
Planned social housing developments at Deanrock in Togher and Gerald Griffin Street in Blackpool are expected to significantly add to the number of houses available.
The Government announced the "Rebuilding Ireland" 5.35 billion euro action plan in July this year to deliver 47-thousand social houses nationwide.
