Cork City Council vote against rise in Local Property Tax for 2018

Member of Cork City Council have voted against raising the Local Property Tax.
The decision was made at a meeting in City Hall last night and means that residents will see will see no change to their payments next year.
Councillors voted 16-10 in favour of maintaining the status quo however Sinn Féin, Solidarity, and the Workers’ Party critical of the decision.
The vote also means that €777,000 euro will be available in the council's budget for 2018.
It follows a similar decision by Cork County Council this week to maintain the status quo.
