Cork city escapes flooding in wake of Storm Brian

High tide hit Cork around tea-time and warnings had been issued for possible flooding in low-lying streets

However Anglesea Street Gardai say the high tide passed off without incident with some minor spot flooding reported on Morrisons Island.

Meanwhile the City Council say they'll be prioritising certain areas as they continue to clean up after Storm Brian and Storm Ophelia this weekend.

Crews from the local authority are on the ground this weekend and the public are being asked to report any new issues that may occur with today's bad weather so that crews can be redirected.

Speaking to RedFM News News Director of Services at Cork City Council David Joyce says some fallen debris won't be removed until next week as there are more urgent areas that need attention.
