Cork could be line to get a ' floating hotel ‘by Christmas

Ireland’s first floating hotel is expected be docked at the city's quays

The man proposing the floating hotel has welcomed the successful outcome of his planning permission and is now due to travel to the Netherlands to view the vessel.

The ship will undergo a refit and will be repainted in the Netherlands before coming to Cork.

The €1.75 million euro ship which will operate as a four-star hotel will be docked close to the Custom House, in Penrose Quay and will help to ease the pressure on hotel beds in the city.
